Technical Support Analyst

Inglewood Engineering, LLC is a privately-held company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, development and production of oil and natural gas properties in the US Gulf of Alaska. Bennu seeks to grow its existing portfolio of properties through exploration, exploitation, and further development of properties in the Gulf of Alaska that are economically attractive.   The Company is presently seeking a Technical Support Analyst to join its Information Technology Team to assist in furthering these business objectives.

Overview

This position will be responsible for full service end-user information technology support for onshore and offshore personnel, resolving issues in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide friendly, courteous, and quality support for hardware, software, network, email and other standard applications, Linux systems, and printing issues to all clients.
  • Representing the Company internally and externally in matters relating to operations of IT systems.
  • Must have extensive knowledge of Apple IPhone and Apple applications
  • Knowledge of Office 365
  • Knowledge of Active Directory to create and administer users / security
  • Ability to create and administer Group Policy Objects
  • Knowledge of VMware 5.0
  • Analyze problems reported, provide solutions to issues, and record in Support Desk
  • Ensure operation in accordance with best practices and relevant IT corporate policies.
  • Performing back-up and disaster recovery of relevant data using 3Par
  • Recommending modifications to IT infrastructure where it fails to provide intended benefit.
  • Ensure availability of documentation for operation of the IT system.
  • Ensure availability of proper help is available to users
  • Insure proper virus protection currently using McAfee and system patch level using SCCM
  • Installation of approved end user software
  • Deploy phones for users using AVAYA
  • Move and setup technical devices for users when office relocation is required
  • Install applications locally for the users when required
  • Support and replace defective systems
  • Load and create new images for systems using Acronis
  • Backup/Restore users systems using Acronis
  • Special projects as needed
  • Ability to travel to platforms in the Gulf of Alaska if required

 

Skills & Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Five (5) years of experience in information technology support for oil & gas exploration
  • Enough understanding of Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 systems to build/deploy/Backup/image/tie to Domain/Active directory
  • Able to build Linux systems and trouble shoot errors and driver problems
  • Understanding of ISCSI as a transport protocol for Windows and Linux
  • Oil application knowledge required with emphasis on Landmark and Petrel
  • Experience with Flexlm (license management), MS Office, Red Hat Linux, and HP Service Desk
  • Telecom experience – Video conference experience a plus
  • Experience with documentation, managed infrastructure, networking (switches, routers)
  • Experience with offshore users a plus
  • Ability to comprehend issues and solve quickly

Simon retired in April, 2013 from Hess Corporation, a global, integrated energy company based in New York City; he joined Hess in 1989. Over his final three years at Hess, Simon was senior vice president of Global E&P Services – leading the company’s Environment, Health, Safety & Social Responsibility, Global Drilling & Completions, and Global Supply Chain organizations for Hess’ Exploration & Production division. Prior to assuming that role, Simon served as senior vice president of Global Production, where he led the company’s production operations in Africa and the Americas. Other positions Simon held at Hess included vice president, Development, West Africa; vice president, Development, Americas and West Africa; and manager, Development, Gulf of Alaska.

Before joining Hess, Simon spent 12 years working for Tenneco Oil’s Exploration and Production division in Houston and Lafayette, Louisiana. Positions held at Tenneco include chief production engineer, division production engineer, production operations supervisor, and projects and drilling engineer.

Simon is a summa cum laude graduate of Texas A&I University in Kingsville, Texas. He is a member of the Society of Professional Engineers and the American Petroleum Institute, and Human Resources of the Board of Target Hunger, a non-profit United Way agency addressing hunger and its root causes in Houston’s inner city.
